ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello Englewood Class of 69 classmates:

Good news! Your class reunion committee has held their first 55th Reunion planning meeting.  We had a great turn out.  Robert Williams chaired the meeting.  Your committee established some goals:

1) Hold our Reunion during spring of 2024. April appeared to be the preferred month;

2) Find a host venue which allows catered food, BYOB, and self-provided entertainment (music). The number of projected attendees will determine the size of venue.

3) Keep attendee cost to an affordable amount.

4) Update our list of deceased classmates.

We are looking forward to a great turnout.  What can you do to help? I know it is early, but please let us know if you would like to attend.  Let us know if you know of any other deceased classmates that are not listed on our memory page.  Please spread the word about our reunion.  Seniors are still fine in 69!

This is your 55th Class Reunion Committee: (Couch left-right) Carroll Hicks Miniard, Carol Beechner McGrath, Martha Jackson Ott, Pam Longino; (1st Row Standing left-right) Shirley Zayatz Bowles, Lucretia Eberhardt Minchew, Betty Colcord Perez, Teri Jackson Higgs; (2nd Row Standing left-right) Johnny Reagan, Robert Williams, Ken Higgs.  Not Pictured: Connie Doss Egan, Phyllis Harmon Johnson, Jeff Hartman, Cindy Huffingham Williams, Danny Suber.

Please let your 55th Reunion Committee know if you are planning to attend the reunion and if you are bringing a guest(s).  You can respond on this website or Classmates.com  There is no commitment at this time.  We are just making sure the reunion venue to be selected will be large enough to accommodate all the attendees and their guests.  This will be a great time to catch up with old friends and classmates. Also, please spread the word about the reunion and encourage other classmates to come.  There will be great food, 60s music, memorabilia, and friendly faces at the most reasonable cost.  Also, please let me know of deceased classmates that maybe missing from our "In Memory" section.  Please don't let this one slip by.

Hi Classmates:

Englewood Class of 69, great news!  We have an accepted contract with Crosswater Hall at Nocatee to host our 55th Reunion on April 11th, 2024 from 6 PM until 11 PM.  This is an amazing venue like nothing we’ve had before.  You will definitely be impressed with this venue inside and outside.  Very safe area with plenty of parking. Go to https://www.nocatee.com/crosswater-hall  to view the Crosswater Hall and location.  We will be posting nearby hotels soon.  The Reunion cost per person will be $69.  This cost includes a wonderful buffet meal, ICE, and drink set-ups as previous reunions. BYOB is authorized!  Good news, we were able to obtain the same great caterer everyone enjoyed at our 50th Reunion.  Payment instructions forthcoming on Englewood69.com, Classmates.com and Facebook.  Please spread the word so we can have another great turnout.

All my best, Johnny

We held our second 55th Reunion Committee meeting last night with great attendance. We have narrowed down our venue host to two locations: Our 50th Reunion location and Crosswater Hall at Nocatee. Both locations will accommodate our classmates/guests, allow our own catering, our own drinks, and BYOB. A subcommittee will visit Crosswater this month to see if it will meet our needs. Next month we should have an exact date for the reunion. Please keep letting us know your intent to attend, along with the number of guests. I can honestly tell you that this will be another great reunion. Talk it up and get more classmates to come! All my best, Johnny

Committee Meeting Attendees: (READ LEFT TO RIGHT) Carol Beechner, Carroll Hicks, Shirley Zayatz, Robert Williams, Phyllis Harmon, Pam Longino, Ken Higgs, Teri Jackson, Cindy Huffingham, Martha Jackson, Connie Doss, Betty Colcord, Johnny Reagan (Note. I used classmate last names)

Englewood Class of 69, please continue to stay tuned.  We have another 55th Reunion Committee meeting on Oct 12th.  Location and exact date of reunion still pending committee review of venue findings and venue availability. Thank you for your responses.  Please continue to let us know of your intent to attend and if you are bringing a guest.  Also, please let us know if you are aware of any deceased class members that are not already listed on our Englewood69.com Memory page.  As a reunion tradition, we want to honor the memory of our departed class members. "Seniors still fine in 69 and now", Johnny

We just heard some very sad news. One of our very own EHS class of 69, Kenny Watson passed away today. We are praying for his wife Leslie and all of the Watson family. I will post funeral Info as it becomes available. Rest In peace Kenny.

Does anyone have the date our class of 1969 Graduated? I remember it being in the coliseum but don’t have the date. Thanks. Sharon Still Cooper

It is with a heavy and grieving heart that I have to announce that Frank (Crapse) Ferrie passed away March 7, 2016. Frank was my best friend since our sophomore year. The world is a lot poorer with his passing.

Retired from AT&T on March 31, 2015 after 37 years!!!

Elnita Vaughn (Barbree) passed away the morning of August 23rd after a short illness - obituary should appear in the local papers August 24th. She is preceded in death by her son Kenneth (23) parents, and other close family members. Keep her family in your prayers.

I'll take time to do a proper review later, but I just wanted to say thanks to the committee for providing such a great time and thanks to everyone who attended! It was all too short, as I didn't get to spend time with everyone (and I left at 3:30 am). Personally, I can't wait to do it again! Take care everyone, and have a very, very Merry Christmas! - Andy

If anyone knows anything about Debbie Brown from Englewood please let me know.

Thanks
Bill Ivey
