Woody Richardson (Close Friend To M. Chelette)

My deepest sympathies go out to Mike’s family and friends for they have lost an irreplaceable part of their lives.

With warm feelings, I remember when Mike and I first met at the age of fourteen. Both of us had Honda motorcycles and spent a lot of time together making trips to the beach and running the streets of Southside. Later in our youth, we spent many of our weekends  dancing at Southside Womens Club, Riverside Womens Club and usually ended up at Frisch’s Big Boy to end the evening.  Our close friendship continued until the roads of life separated us and it wasn’t until recently that we were able to renew our friendship and spend time together. I cherish all of our memories together and wish we had been able to make many more. All of us have a special friend and Mike was mine.

In reflection, all of us of our generation grew up in the best of times! We lived through an era of fantastic music, social and interactive friendships with peace and love.

Mike was an intelligent and compassionate person that always had a positive look on life. He fought a courageous battle against cancer until the very end. He was a devoted husband and father and always did what was best for his family.

Rest in peace my friend.

Woody Richardson
