Our beloved classmate, Dixie Lynn Mayo King, 71, of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Dixie's participated in the following as a RAM:
Duval County Essay Contest Grand Finalist, Most Outstanding F.H.A.Member, Social Science Club, G.A.A., Debate Club, Drama Club, F.H.A. Vice PresidentPep Club. Dixie attended Landon Junior High School.
What a great and loving person she was and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A daughter of Frank Terry Mayo, who survives and Bee Elizabeth Evans, of blessed memory, she was born in Fort Worth, Texas on May 13, 1951. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Dan King.
In addition to her father, Frank Terry Mayo, she is survived by children, Elizabeth Anne Matthews, Craig Terry Matthews (wife, Jamie Ellis Matthews) and Jennifer Elizabeth Shea; grandchildren, Blair Balch, Olivia Brinlee, Paisleigh Miller, Gavin Miller, John Shea, Conor Shea and Shelby Shea; great-grandchildren, Kiera Jo Balch and Zavien Brinlee; sisters, Denise Elizabeth McCormick (husband, Phil McCormick) and Debra Marett; nieces and nephews, Dustin Lowe (wife, Krystal Lowe), Kristen Robbins (husband, James), Conner Robbins (wife, Connie Robbins), Amanda Day and Morgan McCormick; Sisters-in-law, Mary Cruse (husband, Bill Cruse) and Lorraina Cockran (husband, John). She is also survived by her two precious cats, Nala and Archie.
She retired after 42 years with AT&T as an Installation Supervisor. She enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking and baking, traveling, going on cruises, shopping, card games, listening to music and going to the beach.
A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced.
