Phyllis Craig (Wheelan)

I loved Philip from the moment I saw him. He was tall and handsome and reminded me of Mick Jagger in several ways- how I loved being with him in that VW beetle! He was incredibly intelligent and well-read. He was a writer and poet and there was something about him ... I hadn't seen him in twenty years when I read here that he had passed away and, in that moment, my heart skipped a beat and I caught my breath as if for the last time. He lived dangerously, but he was a sensitive and good man and the world is not as bright now that he is no longer in it.

'That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold,
Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.'
Shakespeare's Sonnet LXXIII.
